| It is only about 2 months since I discovered that my paternal grandmother's maiden name (Bremner) was Scottish, not German like the entire rest of my family. I've been digging into the genealogy ever since and I am 99% sure that I have that entire branch of the family tree figured out back through 5 or 6 generations in Nova Scotia to a Robert Bremner, born in Drainie in 1711 who was the one who came over from Scotland. Now it's getting sticky. But I'm glad that I found you guys and I'm glad to be here. But you have to be patient with me, because I know very little about the history or culture of Scotland. Any help that might be out there would be greatly appreciated. |

|
|
So I've always known that I was part Scottish and for a long time have been looking for my clan. Until now I've been wearing a Black Watch kilt when I go to renaissance faires and the like.
My family's surname is Christianson.
I've done a lot of searching and was never able to find it. However recently at a book store I was reading about Scottish Surnames and found out that Christianson is essentially just another spelling of Christison, which is part of Clan Farquharson.
Would anybody know any more on this subject or verify if this is correct? |
